Our commitment

The Centre of Love Foundation (“TCOLF,” “we,” “our” or “us”) respects the privacy of people who visit tcolf.org, contact us, express interest in a service trip or support our work. This policy explains what information the website collects, why we use it and the choices available to you.

Information you choose to provide

When you use a contact or service-trip interest form, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, location, areas of interest and the information you include in your message. Please do not submit sensitive personal, medical, financial or identification information through these forms.

Information collected automatically

Our web server and security tools may receive ordinary technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, requested pages and the date and time of a request. The forms also use limited technical checks—including a temporarily hashed network address, timing information and a hidden anti-spam field—to reduce automated abuse. This information is used to operate, secure and troubleshoot the website.

How we use information

We use information submitted through the website to respond to questions, communicate about programs and service trips, consider partnership or volunteer interest, maintain appropriate organizational records, prevent spam and protect the website. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

How form submissions are handled

Form submissions are stored as private records within our WordPress website and are also sent to a designated Google-hosted mailbox used by the TCOLF board. Access is limited to authorized people who need the information for nonprofit operations. Because TCOLF connects work in Kenya with governance and support in the United States, authorized representatives in either country may review and respond to a message when appropriate.

Service providers and external websites

We rely on hosting, email and website-service providers to operate tcolf.org. Pages may include privacy-enhanced YouTube video players and web fonts provided by Google. These services may receive technical information such as an IP address when their resources are loaded or when you interact with an embedded video.

Links to GlobalGiving, eBay, YouTube and other external websites take you to services governed by their own privacy policies. TCOLF does not receive your payment-card information when you donate or purchase through those external services. If we add an embedded donation provider in the future, we will update this policy to describe that service.

Cookies

WordPress may use cookies that are necessary for administration, security or basic website operation. Embedded or linked third-party services may use their own cookies or similar technologies according to their policies. We do not currently use advertising cookies or behavioral advertising on this website.

How long we keep information

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably needed to respond, administer a program or relationship, maintain required organizational records, resolve a concern or protect the website. Retention may vary depending on the nature of the communication and applicable recordkeeping obligations.

Children’s privacy

Our public website is intended for a general audience and is not designed to collect personal information directly from children under 13. A parent or guardian should contact us on behalf of a child. If you believe a child submitted personal information through this website, please notify us so we can review and remove it when appropriate.

Your choices

You may ask what personal information you submitted through the website, request a correction or request deletion when we are not required to retain it. You may also ask us to stop contacting you. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect website submissions, including encrypted HTTPS connections and restricted administrative access. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use care when deciding what to send online.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our website, services or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest revision.
